Man Utd chief Fletcher tribute to Jones: You're a great family man, great player, great team-mate

Manchester United technical director Darren Fletcher has paid tribute to Phil Jones.

The former England defender is leaving after 12 years with the club. He was presented with a framed shirt of his for their 2013 Premier League title triumph.

Fletcher said: "This is just a little memento from everyone at the club to say a big, massive congratulations on a wonderful career. Obviously, as a team-mate and knowing what a great player you are.

"The kit in the year you won the league as well so we thought it would be a nice touch. And we'd just like to say a big thank you for everything.

"You're a great family man, great player, great team-mate. You went above and beyond for Manchester United every time you wore the badge, you played with your heart. I think the fans and everyone can recognise it.

"What an unbelievable servant you've been to the club and we'd just like to wish you all the best in your future and you're always welcome back at Old Trafford any time."
